Crossing 50 years of age suddenly will make you slows down in everything you do and think.Instead of looking forward, I sink into a new world .. unprepared. It is the world of reminisce.Every bit of anything now worth to be mentioned or written.

Before enrolling for standard one primary school, me and my friend past our childhood with climbing trees, swimming at mining pools and rivers nearby and best of all..we use to pee at neighbour's flowers and tapioca which they planted.

We had war games before.much better than the present on line computer games as it involves war between kampungs. We carve rifle look thing from flat planks and painted like real arm.Using strips of rubber cut from bicycle tubes, the propulsion is similar to a 'lastik'.Bullets are "buah rimbang' , and whe war lasted as long as the school holidays.

Sometimes actual fight or duel happens but when school reopens, all were forgiven and be forgotten.Games those days are like durian seasons. When Malaysia badminton team fights for the Thomas Cup, everybody starts to search their old rackets and badminton nets.I remembered wooden rackets used for actual badminton. Then when Pesta Bola Merdeka comes to Stadium Merdeka...every open space will be equipped with a makeshift goalpost.

Football boots like 3 stripes Adidas and Puma are out of our reach. We could only afford to see those boots at sportshop showcases and dreamed of wearing it one day.My father hardearned income never give a space for such luxury. With some money I saved, I followed the other boys wearing a Fung Keong football training shoes.it was canvas but had a hard plastic sole with studs.

As Futsal is the trend now, those days were the '7 a-side Tournament'. We participated alot of these games but never make it to the second round.Football was controlled by the physically stronger Indian friends in the kampong. We secretly found out the secret of their strength is Dhal Curry. So me and my friends changed our daily menu of nasi lemak and wag roticanai everyday poured with dhal curry.Eventually non of us was able to play football because of obesity and overweight!

Then came the 1975 Hockey World Cub...as it was the 'happening',even the kedai runcit in the village sold hockey stick and balls.I never like to play hockey but I learned that the heavy stick are for defence and the lighter ones are for the strikers. This era saw all the Punjabi friends whom we call 'Baii' comes out in full force to rule the fields in the evening.

There was a specky rich boy in my kampung who came to play hockey with the Baiis using his Dad golf club! ha...ha...

People says that  golf is a requirement to get promoted besides your PTK and Lapuran Prestasi.Beside playing golf, you have to PAY for the ..... green fees , caddy and buggy fees.Capable friends of mine at grade 44 knew that the  golf factor was the decisive element in our organization , gave up and leave itto Allah to manage.

Some say golf make you macho. I say Golf makes you dream.Quoting from an auto magazine, it says ' carmakers sells dreams'.I couldnt agree  more, as the model progresses in terms of performance and pricing, the bigger dreams they sells, the bigger debt will be made by the buyer in order to  sleep with it.

1st graded golf set ad claimed thatz  its capable of delivering or executing a hole in one. I say its a dream coz how can cock eyed golfers scores when he hardly sees the ball.

The joke is .... said golf to him is full of planning  and strategy. We listened to him coz we are employees. Definitely in the brain of his game mate is full of calculations for the total amount to be paid after the game ends.Lose or win he  walks away laughing.....
