For the period of several months after the dissappearance of MH370 , I had to be absent from jotting down events as my mind was perhaps not at its normal 'settings' . Along the way there was a series of investigation panels which I had to face to answer queries that only can be enlighten by Vietnam ATCC or the Airforce. The pressure was on me ,as I had to study documents such as ICAO annexe regarding Accident & Incident , Search & Rescue .. a subject so alien to me and the manuals. Anyway , til I die , from what I saw on the multi channel recorder ,I always believed that the Sector 3 Radar Controller had completed his task providing a full standard air traffic service from the moment MH370 was handed to him till he transfered MH370 to Ho Chi Minh at the agreed point IGARI. The last words transmitted by the Captain " goodnight Malaysian 370" and the blip crosses IGARI is an ultimate evidence that the service rendered by my team is perfect and uncompromised! . The ball is at Vietnam's foot , whether a U turn or not.
Feeling down and felt that I may never recover from this tragic and darkest mark in my career . Thanks to my eldest sister who is a JUSA level goverment servant who continously and endeavoured words of encouragement til now. I almost wrote in applying for an early retirement citing my spine problem as the main excuse @reason to withdraw fm the civil service.
Today 15 months had passed , MH370 is no longer the talk in town. Questions such as 'where is MH370?' will be answeres " yeah , it in the news!' . The masses are expressing their frustration as the goverment enforced GST few months ago which increases domestic expenditure affecting almost all items consumed by the rakyat when at the same time , the purchasing power steadily declines , influenced by the normal inflation rate . Lately the rakyat is looking forward to watch the present head of goverment to have an open debate or a hard talk ,so they call it with the former PM . In this manner , with the precise facts and reasoning , may erase doubt and, reduce the level of rejection by the people despite emerging difficulties in sustaining a previously satisfactory quality of life.
My last words on MAS370 investigation is : The report challenged my professionalism , diligence and skill in leading the ATC service on that fateful morning. I did everything i could to inform n warn the airline and my staff took all initiative to notify Vietnam as we believed that the plane is continuing its journey. The investigation and report prepared by ex DCA staff who never in their career perform radar controlling is totally off course , fault finding in nature , unfair and totally failed to accurately portrayed my action and the controllers effort to manage the unprecedented dissappearance.
