Log 23rd October 2013 at 5.55pm. Yesterday was my 53rd birthday and no celebration all as there is no reason to. Yes , to some people , birthday is important to them where ther will annouced it and expect other to wish them . In my opinion , at this twilight years , everyday and every moment should be celebrated and it odesnt matters whether alone or with the love ones. I receive 4 birthday wishes from my wife, son, my nephew Alfian Azam and his mom Roziah. That is sufficient for me , no present and no special occasion to mark the date.

Early this morning , minutes before I completed my night shift since 7pm yesterday , I chat with my Supervisor who will be receiving another 17 times of monthly salary , before retiring......and me exactly 84 times - god willing. Another 36 months ahead , my repayment for my housing loan will be completed and beyond that , the deductionin my pay monthly pay statement is my Income Tax. Even today, my income tax deduction is just over RM700/- a month, more than my Proton Preve CFE car instalment which is slightly above RM600/-.

Well, that's life , last night as I went thru the office computers , I came across a folder containing photos of my ex Boss , the late Hj Ghazali Said who pass away , soon as he retired due to prostrate cancer and stroke. He was a friend and later became my Boss when I was assigned to be Penang DCA Branch Manager. As a long time friend, we use to pool cars from Desa Jaya Kepong to Subang via the old Sungai Buloh Road.He uses a Mitsubishi Lancer 1980 and me , driving a Mitsubishi Sigma .Another close friend was the late Vausu Dev Varma , a Ceylonese who drive a Toyota DX. Another Air Traffic Controller wo joins us was the late Mr Terrence - a neighbour to Hj Ghazali. Such a memory travelling together to/fro office and home for many years , sharing   stories , experince and life and  now, all of them had departed earlier to meetup with the creator . Allah bless and be passionate to them all.

53 years old and with an injured spine. I take my life carefully , watch my steps every where I go. I ve known my wife 31 years , married for 29 years and the only real friend I have. We prefer to be together in private as we come to realise that , the time may not be too long. Rather than hanging out with friends and wasting this precious life , it best to spend with family members ......

Already passed 1 year when I acquired a Yamaha Musical Keyboard PSR E433 and Casio WK7500 , total price was RM5ooo.oo plus. A doube rack stand for the instrument , a microphone plus stand, cables and a  keyboard amplifier. The main reason of this purchase is , to past my time at home. As Im no longer able like healthy man and has to remain indoors other then going to work , I need something to kill the time.I considered investing on cameras , but change my mind as it involves outing & driving to do photography.

The market value for an Air Traffic Controller with the Mat Salleh aviation air traffic control service overseas  is around RM40000 a month. Here in Malaysia, currently with all the Professional Fees, my income as an Approach Radar Controller is slightly above RM10000. Anyway we prefer love to serve in our own country as the figure has given us a reasonably comfortable life and most important , condusive enviroment.

The rediscovered school friends from the 6oies and 70ies are are drown and kept being being swept away by the currents and violent waves of  their personal challenges in  life. It is  so difficult to maintain a strong contact like the times when we are young.. I agree that balancing family life and very important friends entails a very high communication skill between the sides.I am blessed with a wife, born with good interaction skills , positive healthy thinking and faith to Allah , as my job requires me to socialize and spend time  with several society levels.

Ramlan Mohd Ali visited me at my official residence in Penang Airport in 2010.Came along was his family who arrive in their latest acquisition of a prestigious Honda CRV.I grew with Ramlan in Segambut and attended the same secondary school before changing course into reality.Knowing him more than 40 years makes me realise that we are born with different ways to success or at least to acheive a comfortable life.Ramlan went to the States twice to his Degree and Masters, I remain here, accumulating technical expertise in Aviation. I went to Singapore Aviation Collegge twice, sponsored by Japan International Coop and later was awarded a Fellowship by Singapore of Foreign Affairs to study Aeronautical Cartography with a strong emphasize in Airspace Management. At the time the  above foto was taken Ramlan is General Manager of MITCO , a subsidiary of Petronas and me the Manager , Dept Civil Aviation of Subang Airport and later Penang International Airport. Both of us are earning 5 figure income, and definitely  his figures are different & bigger  than mine.ha..ha..syukur to Allah.

2/2/2013 morning, Me and En Abdul Wahab Mohd Yusoff (DJN) having breakfast a commoner restaurant in Kota Damansara. Together En Wahab and me joined DCA in 1980, we went through the same training at the Malaysia Aviation Academy and in 1992 when Malaysia Airport was incorporated ( and DCA remained with a few highly regulatory functional units such as Air Traffic Control, & Flight Operations,) Wahab managed to leave DCA to chase his dreams . I'm  supposed to join Malaysia Airports, but my late  No:1 took steps to hide and shielded  me by tranferring me to DCA Headquarters to do deskwork, preventing me from leaving.

Anyway in 2005, I was promoted to Subang DCA Manager but loaned to the National Air Traffic Control Centre. With the grace of Allah, in late 2007, I was promoted again and held the post of Manager at DCA Penang Airport.Coincidently then, Wahab was the Senior Manager at Penang International Airport.

Our collaboration DCA Penang and Malaysia Aiports Penang Intl who are the key players in airport operations succesfully made Penang Airport The Best Airport 2009 for category :pax 15 million and below.I couldnt attend the ceremony in Singapore but Wahab went to receive the prestigious trophy awarded by Frost and Sullivan.

Wahab left Penang in late 2010 to manage the KLIA2 project and in February 2011 , I moved to DCA KLIA, my No:1 said, he wanted me to help DCA KLIA gearin towards KLIA2 operations. After 3 months in KLIA , I had a spine injury and this was a turning point in my career (temporarily). Now almost 20 months after the surgery,, hopefully I can regain my performance & ability again to carryon  in the fast lane of airport business.

Behind succesful men, is their wifes , and of course-who supports them all the way!   Pn Fatimah (En Wahab's wife)& Pn Salwani who's married to me...of course! 99.9% of my friends hold this simple principle : if we (the husbands) were to negelect & dump our wife, what else does she own ? and is a second marriage a triumph ? No! we'll just continue this simple happy life and hope happy endings, just like in the fairytails. The joke is : Pn Fatimah & my Wife appears to knows very much in detail on how to run airport operations either airside OR  terminal side better that our Deputies! kah..kah...They are , anytime, a  class above them!
